To All Curling Leagues at the Heather Curling Club:
With the identification of the COVID-19 virus in Manitoba, it is important for everyone to exercise good common sense in terms of self-monitoring for symptoms, wash your hands frequently with soap for at least 20 seconds, cough or sneeze into your arm, and follow recommended advisories from our public health officials.
At the present time, we do not feel it is necessary to suspend the day-to-day club operation, including league play and special events. This may change if the virus become more extensive in Manitoba.
As we proceed cautiously, we are asking our teams to consider the following:
- Abstain from customary pre/post-game handshakes and consider other methods for communicating.
- Strongly advise all teammates to restrict their participation if feeling ill. Do not attend the curling venue if you show any symptoms associated with the virus.
We hope that this virus has been contained, but the reality is that all of us in our daily lives run the risk of coming in contact with someone who may be sick. Please be safe.
